There are two department stores that I am an ardent fan of…Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman-Marcus.  They are sister stores and vastly different.  Their inventory is the similar, but their shopping experiences are slightly different.  When I lived in New York, my weekends included trips to the MET  and afternoons of shopping at Bergdorf’s.  I have to confess to occasional visits during the week.  It’s like visiting Mecca or shopping church.  The sales associates are wonderful.  They don’t pounce on you.  They’re more like your shopping buddies who give you good advice.  One of the things I miss about not living in New York is shopping at Bergdorfs.  Thank God for online shopping and periodic trips to New York.
